Fear not for I am with you

I thought I'd share this David Jerimiah devotional with you. It's a cute story with a built in truth about our children's innocence and our adult fears.

Thank Goodness for Protection

Fear not, for I am with you.

Last summer, a Canadian family celebrated their son's third birthday with a camping trip to a popular park in British Columbia. One day during their stay, the boy's parents thought he was playing with other children. When they realized he was missing, a frantic search ensued. According to the subsequent report of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the boy had ridden his toy truck into a swiftly-flowing river. The river swept the boy, still on the truck, downstream for nearly eight miles. It was a two-hour trip; and the boy, when he was discovered, seemed to have enjoyed himself. He rode his truck down the river like a raft. "He was very excited," said an officer.

Isaiah 43:2 says, "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you." The Lord watches over us, even when we don't fully understand the perilous nature of our condition. Thank goodness for His daily protection!

Though come what may from day to day, my Heavenly Father watches over me.

ohhh, to have faith like a child. Just enjoy the ride trusting that God is the current stearing you. That's a sweet, sweet thought. :)

Blog Me

There's been many times I've had things to say be it spiritual, social, political,or just micellaneous rambling and I needed a place to vent these thoughts. Comments would be great . I'm laid off from work and have much more time to waste on the computer. This first blog deals with nothing.I'm simply trying to see how it works.
The media is the tail wagging the dog So, do people really care this much about the football player and his wife or is the media just feeding it to us. Talk shows determine what the topic will be. Editors decide what the headlines are. They don't ask us  whats on our minds. People who believe the media reflects society's interest, and not there own,  are just right out to lunch. Nobody cares about the three elderly nuns who were raped and murdered last week in Burundi or maybe a follow - up on the oil spills that "destroyed the planet"  a few years ago.  We're all just waiting to hear another opinion on the football player and his wife? Don't get me wrong. The story does not completely lack newsworthiness, but how many people does it take to tell such a simple little story when there is all kinds of other things happening that are important.

Another Poem

When I first started studying the Bible, I found I was always picking out things I thought I was pretty much in line with, or was already applying to my own life and I would see the faults of other people who weren't where I was morally. I thought "Gee, It so easy. Why don't people just live like me". It's not just Chistians. Many folks think they have all the "real" righteous ways figured out and if you should, say, smoke,or drink, or do something politically incorrect, well, you're just bad, stupid or both. It's always so easy to see the shortcomings of others. At some point I came across Luke18:9-14 "To some who are confident and look down at everybody else,Jesus told this parable:"Two men went up to the temple to pray one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood up and prayed about himself: 'God I thank you that I am not like other men--robbers, evildoers, adulterers-or-- even like this tax collector. I ...
